Summer is almost over Thespians! It seems sad I know but that also means its time to buckle down and get to work on making this next year the best one yet for our troupe! The ITS blog has been completely updated so check out all of the tabs above for new information. This year is going to be a big one because we will be producing the shows She Kills Monsters, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Abridged, and The Drowsy Chaperone. Check the 'Current Season' tab for full descriptions and other performance opportunities available during the 2017-2018 school year.
Leading up to the school year we will have a few events to help us gear up for next season. The first of which will be the Fall Blitz on 8/2/17. We will have a booth promoting our troupe and we need volunteers to come and talk about our troupe and all of our opportunities to not only the rising freshman but to all of the grades. The Fall Blitz is from 11:00-4:00. Next will be our annual theater clean up day on 8/3/17! We will be cleaning from 8:30-12:00. Hopefully we can clean our theater and get the Mashburn ready for the new school year. All are invited! Then on 8/4/17 we have planned a tentative Freshman Meet and Greet day. All Freshman are invited to attend to learn about our troupe, meet our members, and play some games. We will need both acting and tech volunteers to come and help out with the Freshman. We will have Q&A sessions for acting and tech with inducted members and students interested in those fields. It will be from 10:30-1:00 and snacks will be provided. If interested in volunteering for the clean-up, Fall Blitz, and/or the Freshman Day send a reply to the ITS Remind account. Check the 'Contact' tab to sign up for the Remind if you're not already. Last year we participated in the ITS donation event Trick or Treat so Kids Can Eat (TOTS-EAT). Starting this year we hope to go all in with this great opportunity to help the DCHS Food Pantry! Starting at our first meeting we will view some power points and brainstorm ideas and dates for possible collection activities. Check here for more info on TOTS-EAT. Keep your minds open for some ideas so we can show our community that our Troupe truly cares! Thescon seems far away now but preparations start early! This year we really want Troupe 2680 to be completely involved with things such as the opening number, freestyle competition (maybe senior directed), improv competition, tech challenge, play works, and our IE's. We will hopefully be assembling a group IE for this year's Thescon. If you have any song suggestions for our group IE please respond to the Remind with the song title and musical. We must also work hard so She Kills Monsters might have the opportunity to perform on a Thescon stage. For more info on all of this check the 'Events' tab and here. We will have interest sheets at our first meeting for each of these programs so we can start preparing early and take Thescon 18' by storm! If you haven't already followed our Troupe social media's please go do that and also go Like our new Facebook page and be ready to share pictures and dates on there so we can reach a whole new community. Our first ITS Meeting and One-Act Auditions are on August 15, 2017 See you guys soon! Leave a Reply. |
